We invite you to meet artist Birgitte Skands, who will give you an insight into her artistic practice.
As an experienced dancer and ever-curious choreographer, Skands uses her deep experience and cross-aesthetic movement language to inspire new perspectives.
With her latest project STILL / DANCING / BODY, she challenges traditional narratives in the dance field by rethinking who performs on stage and who creates the performances.
Birgitte Skands has been invited for a 4-week IN DEPTH residency at HAUT starting mid-April.
A residency that gives her time for further immersion in her own artistic practice. During the residency, she will delve deeper into her investigations of time, body and movement - themes that are central to her work.
Birgitte Skands is a dance artist and choreographer with an academic background in philosophy and pedagogy. She has worked in the dance field for more than four decades and started her career as a dancer in companies touring the world after graduating from The Juilliard School. Today, Skands works as a freelance performer, choreographer and dance teacher and holds a master's degree in educational philosophy.

AN HOUR WITH is an informal conversation that allows for short or intense immersion in an artistic practice.
It's an opportunity to meet artists in an informal setting and gain insight into knowledge that is often only available to the people who are part of the work process.
