Karis Zidore will talk about her practice at the intersection of sound, voice, and body at AN HOUR WITH.

She is currently preoccupied with the erotic as an expanded concept and generative force—specifically in the process of her solo investigation She’s Too Much Sound. Here, she delves into the hypercharged ‘moan’ as vocal material. At AN HOUR WITH, Karis will talk about moving in and out of inner states and outer images, and about the open mouth as a stage space. She will share examples in the form of images, text, and video from her latest processes with the research at the residencies HAUT/Aabne Scene in September 2022 and the Danish Institute in Athens in October-November 2022, as well as give examples of other works and methods.

You can read more about Karis here and about Danseatelier here.

Karis Zidore is a choreographer, dancer, composer, and member of the dance collective Danseatelier.

Karis Zidore

Karis Zidore is a choreographer and sound artist, which is why her artistic practice is based on sound, voice, and body - both separately, in parallel, and intertwined. She collaborates with choreographers Olivia Rivière, Emilie Gregersen, and Naya Moll, among others, and is also part of the artistic collective Danseatelier in Copenhagen.

Website

AN HOUR WITH is an opportunity to meet artists in an informal setting where new conversations about art can flourish. The intention is to cultivate a closer relationship with and understanding of different artistic practices and investigations that are currently inspiring the field.

With AN HOUR WITH, we provide a space for brief and focused immersion in the work of an artist or group of artists. AN HOUR WITH is for the industry, national and international colleagues, and others interested in the performing arts.
