En undersøgelse af multietnisk sorgdans i flere faser.
When war reveals that civilization is a thin veneer, and hatred, fear, and thirst for revenge spread epidemically among your people, who are you, and to which “people” do you belong? This question leads to increased polarization, but how does a multiethnic individual position themselves in this field of tension?
Based on Bosnian folklore, the artistic team will embark on creating a multi-ethnic expression in music, dance, and images that reflects multi-ethnicity, based on the personal experiences of musician, instructor, and debater Nikoline. In the process, the artists ask themselves questions such as: How do we create an authentic multi-ethnic expression that is not backward-looking and nationalistic, but feels universal and modern? Can we work with the subconscious and emotional level, or do we also need to convey facts in order to create compassion and empathy for the division? How do we create and dissolve the feeling of ‘us’ and ‘them’ in the audience?
The artistic team consists of Nikoline Vicić Rasmussen. The artists have not worked together before, so part of the process will also involve exploring collaboration and developing a common theatrical language.
