Constellation of the Heart describes the process of gathering and staging a series of dance incantations that Amalie Bergstein Nielsen has studied and developed over the past few years.
These dances are primarily connected to the heart, to love, and to grief – and they are practiced here from a fascination with magic and incantations, as a transformative act and a (perhaps) intimate encounter between performer and witnesses; performer and audience.
During her IN SEED residency, Amalie Bergstein will explore dance as incantation and world-making, using “constellation” as a dramaturgical approach.
"Steer your life by these stars
On the unconditional chance
'Tis here where Hell and Heaven dance"
This is the constellation of the heart (Kate Bush, 1993)

Amalie Bergstein Nielsen (she/her) is a Denmark-based dancer and performer focusing on magic and pleasure - with dance as her tool. Amalie graduated from the Dance and Choreography program at The Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2019. She has a physical foundation in Western modern dance techniques and has more recently begun learning pole dance. She has an enthusiastic heart for foraging arts, herbal medicine, and other forms of plant magic.

The IN SEED-residency offers emerging artists the opportunity and support to anchor their artistic practice within the Danish performing arts community.
The goal is to support the potential found in emerging artistic practices, as well as to strengthen the skills that new artists may need in order to become part of the Danish performing arts landscape.
