National Exhibition is supposed to poke deep in the national conscience, bring the skeletons out of the closet, let them dance on our holiest and find out where it really hurts.

A desire to loosen up society's habitual thinking, inability to ask themselves questions and the widely entrenched disinterest in 'the other'. Through action, costume and prop, the audience is invited to sincere self-reflection in a time marked by identity crises, with the desire to construct and highlight its roots both personally and politically.

The National Exhibition is a visual and choreographic work on the border between installation and performing arts. Created with craftsmanship and design, it is performed by six dancers wearing an allegorical national costume.

The design duo KASPERSOPHIE is behind the National Exhibition and, based on a visual concept, has collaborated with choreographer Martin Forsberg.

The National Exhibition is created by Kasper Hansen and Sophie Bellin-Hansen

The work is co-produced by HAUT in cooperation with Statens Museum of Art and supported by Statens Kunstfond, Knud Højgårds Fond and Dansehallerne.
