Wired will explore how to organize the artistic experience that music brings to a performing arts universe, where rhythmic improvisation and repetition guide the collective conversation between artists.

The format is progressive and the layers are nuanced and unpredictable in this journey, which seeks to balance the masculine and feminine qualities of the genre equally - with a mix of soul singing, spoken word, and heavy, gritty beats and bass that can be felt. The study is based on experimentation and seeks answers to the following questions: What sound does dance produce? And can it be translated into musical productions and soundscapes that turn the cause-and-effect relationship on its head? What does a modern ritual sound and look like? How do street and club genres appear when examined on their own terms?

The group is intergenerational and international, consisting of individuals who are leaders in their respective art forms.

Each member of the cast offers expertise in beatmaking, singing, poetry, and dance. Three out of five are notable in both music production and dance, and the remaining two are anchored in the outer poles of the art forms.

Marie Kaae

Marie Kaae (she/her) is an internationally renowned, mature performer and educator with Danish, Kurdish, and Cameroonian heritage. With 25 years of experience in professional dance, she has worked across dance theatres, the commercial industry, and underground culture. She made her name in the international battle scene, which remains the authentic forum for the House Dance genre. Here, she continues to hold space as a jury member and mentor for younger dancers across the globe. Her practice is rooted in the cultural life of Afro-American and Afro-European club culture, as well as in the ambitious art form that is House Dance.
