Start the day with an insight into artistic leader Alex Blums plans on how to co-curate residencies and invite artists during the season 2025/2026.
In previous years, HAUT has mainly co-curated residencies through open calls. In this season, we plan a biannual application and reading round that surveys the artistic context and concrete needs for space, paid time, and artistic feedback in the independent scene. We assume that a needs-based approach can make our curation more transparent, but we rely on your curios questions, feedback and critique to be held accountable to that intention.
That's why we hope to see you for AN HOUR WITH where we over croissants and morning coffee will dive into it.
Alex Blum (she/her) is educated in choreography at School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam and in political science at Freie Universität Berlin. As a researcher affiliated with the queer performance pedagogical platform In Pursuit of Otherwise Possibility, Alex writes and teaches about queer feedback, consent, and rejection practices in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Alex's artistic work unfolds embodied notions of freedom in the face of violence. In performances at a wide range of international venues, Alex involves the audience in the rehearsal situation of dance to highlight the body's ability to touch, listen to, consent to, and witness each other as more than just political fixations.
In Alex's works and texts, biography and activism often merge with (Danish) queer historical archives, including those on the Gay Liberation Front and Lili Elbe. This is her contribution to the democratic conversation: to choreograph testimonies that there have always been and always will be ways to make our bodies outside the norm, and that breaking the norm is the embodiment of freedom.

AN HOUR WITH gives space for short and intense immersion in an artist or artistic practice.
